JOB SEARCH TIPS
ButtonTheCat and other members of WAHM provided some search tips to find companies that hire. http://www.wahm.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=323641&PN=1

.com/careers "job you're looking for" telecommute
Put "" around .com/careers, too
".com/employment" or ".com/jobs"
".com/careers" "transcription"

While these were posted mainly for any type of work at home job, you can limit it to searching for transcription, transcribing, etc., and you can also try .net, .org, etc.

RESEARCH TIPS
There is some good information already on the web that cover the basics of internet searches and you can always look for search tips from your favorite search engine. For Google, you go to Advanced Search and then Advanced Search Tips on the upper right side. For Yahoo, you would go to Help on the bottom, select Search and you come to the page: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/search/

One site that provides how-to search information is http://websearch.about.com/od/internetresearch/a/addandsubtract.htm
and for Google Search Engine Basics http://websearch.about.com/od/enginesanddirectories/a/toptenengines_2.htm

If you want to search just one site, put in your search terms followed by: site:[insert website address without the brackets]. The search will then be limited to only that site. I have tried it on Google, Yahoo, and MSN and it seems to work on them, but not on Winzy. I have found this helpful with WAHM, because its search option is topic subject only, so I don't get as many results as I would like. This way to search also allows you to get to the posts from 2005 through 2007, which you may not get using WAHM's search. So, for example, if you Google: legal transcription site:www.wahm.com, you get 3,690 results, but only 25 using WAHM's search.

You can narrow your search results on Google by either using quotes, adding additional search terms, or use exclude (hyphen) before "site." So searching legal transcription -program site:www.wahm.com gives 3,170 results.
